FAQ
How long are training sessions? Does everyone in the home need to be there?
Training sessions are typically 1.5 hours. We spend 15 minuets catching up on anything we need too, an hour of training and about 15 minutes at the end to answer questions or anything else. There are situations that 1.5 hours is too long for the dog or what we are working on, we will cut our lessons to what is best for the dog and reallocate that time to another lesson.
It’s best to have as many people in the home at the lessons as possible but that is up to your discretion. You are welcome to have anyone who is in your dog’s life at our lessons.
What is a “Weekly Work Out”?
Our Weekly Work out is a group class setting that past and present clients come together to work on whatever they need to! Each Week we will have a set “theme” of the class, but this class is for you and your dog to work out whatever your dog’s needs. Some class examples are – engagement, settling, leash handling skills car protocols etc.
What training tools do you use?
I like to think of training tools as a “prescription”, My suggestions of tools is case by case and many factors are taken into account when I am recommending training tools. There are a few training items I recommend for most families: Hope Rope Co Leash (I usually have these in stock), martingale collar – Andreas Custom Collars are my favorite, place bed, long leash and feeding toys such as Snoop, FreezBone, Lick Mat etc.
What is Day Training?
Day Training is a day full of learning, fun and structure for YOUR dog. These days are customized to work on what your dog needs at your dog’s pace.
How does the video submission work?
Take a video at least 2 minutes of training anything you need advice on, I may at times assign you what to take a video of. You can send the video via text or Google Drive, whatever is easiest for you or what will send. Then I will get back to you within one business day with advice and feedback.

These plans are longer than other trainers I have looked at or worked with?
Good, they are…much longer. So many times I have had the honor of being the second, third, fourth sometimes even fifth trainer people have worked with and a common thing I have heard them say is: “and then our lessons were over and I didn’t know what to do and their only option was to do it again or a board and train” or “I couldn’t keep up with what they wanted me to do in that time frame” and I GET IT! Life is busy, complicated, messy and layered. It’s hard to do everything you need to do as a human let alone a dog parent with a challenging dog. Our programs are designed to create real change for real people while they are living real life.
Many changes for your dog’s behavior can be done quickly and seems like magic and then there are things that are much more complicated and feel like you are hitting your head against a brick wall. You are learning just as much as your dog and you are the MOST important piece of the puzzle, after all you are your dog’s trainer. We give enough time in our programs for people to learn just as much as the dog. We also know many behavioral issues are layered and we need to address each issue. We know life changes – people get pregnant, move, have in-laws move in, get another dog, get sick etc. whatever life throws at you we will be there to help you navigate life’s changes with your dog. We are here for the long run and to support you, your dog and your family! That’s why we have plans that are long and truly support people and their pups.
I don’t see any Google reviews…why?
Fair question, previously I was a Marketing Director and every day I worked with business owners on their reviews and status online. Throughout this journey I learned a few things – the most successful businesses I worked thrived because of word of mouth and reviews were nice to have but their businesses didn’t rely on it and the businesses that heavily relied on reviews and paid marketing were missing something, usually not providing their customers the experience/results they wanted consistently. This made me think of how I wanted to spend my time as a business owners/dog trainer. I am so grateful that I have been able to be in business for two years and fully rely on word of mouth to be successful, especially in this day an age. This has allowed me to fully focus on training dogs, supporting my human clients, furthering my education and developing the business. I am happy to provide information for testimonials and my clients are happy to talk about their experiences! As we scale our business, we know reviews and online presence will be important so we may be asking for reviews in the future but for now, we are just so happy to be able to keep out focus on what matters – the dogs and their people.

Working through reactivity is challenging but with consistency and guidance, you can help your dog feel comfortable and confident in any situation.
